Nanc and I were invited to meet up with some folks from the Oklahoma City Area Corvette Club (I hope that's right) this weekend. We met just west of Amarillo ;) (my camera and I just don't see the same things ;shrug )

Hopefully these are in order, the first and second photo's should be as they first came into view (I-40) 7 Corvettes in the first bunch..

Stop along side the road, nothing major something to do with needing $4.00+ gallon liquid ;shrug (sworn to secrecy) ;)

As we deliberated on a course of action, a SECOND Group from OK came rolling up.. another 6 or 7 Corvettes :eek

After a few more minutes, HUNGER overtook the majority and it was into Vega, Texas to the BootHill Saloon/Resturant for lunch. EVERYONE made it to the Saloon and everyone got lunch :beer

After lunch Nanc and I wished everyone fair sailing and following winds and the private phone number to T Boone :boogie

Amazing people there in Oklahoma, and KNOW HOW to get out and enjoy their Corvettes. A Week in SanteFe, hooking up with another Local Club from the area for good times, BBQ / Picnic PLUS a week in SanteFe ~ Shopping ~ Golf ~ Casino's ~ Touring ~ old friends and meeting new ones :upthumbs.

Thanks Jim & Judy for the invite. It was great seeing you two again and meeting the others making the trip :upthumbs

ENJOY YOUR WEEK!!

Sorry it took a few hours to get this posted,,, but with my/our nap and all ;) ;LOL

Hey Bud,
We really enjoyed the company of you and Nanc in Vega, TX. Lots of highlights on our 7 day cruise. Most interesting was the reception for us by the "Old Santa Fe Trail Corvettes" on Saturday evening. The next was the Hyde Park Corvette Show. We congregated on Sunday morning at the NM State Capital with more than 100 other Vettes. We were then escorted through The Plaza by a Santa Fe Police Vette up the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to Hyde Park. The Corvette show had 152 entries. There were lots of very nice C1's and C2's. The judging was people choice and Rowland Dawson (COCC) won with this new Z06 Special Edition. I'll post a couple of pics later.

Here are pics of the Santa Fe Police Vette that escorted us through Santa Fe and the 7 mile cruise up the mountian. Santa Fe Chevrolet maintains the car. Although it's NOT a daily driver, the officer who drives it on special occasions actually makes traffic stops

Norman PD has a couple of really nice cars but the narcs get to use them. The closest we had was the Camaro a few years back.

Well slap me silly!!! You guys were in my neck of the woods, and I didn't even know about it! Sorry I missed the chance to meet-up with you guys.

Maybe next time. I am glad you enjoyed good ol' New Mexico hospitality.:thumb

I'm sure you believe everything you see on TV. If we only had the tools that CSI (TV) has.

We really did enjoy the NM hospitality. We attended the Hyde Park Corvette show and it looked as if every Vette in NM was there. Oh well...maybe we can meet up sometime.
