Turn signal help please.

My 99' has the rapid blink deal on the right side. I guessed I had a bulb issue, but all outside bulbs are lit and good , I replaced them all. But the green dash light lights very dimly on every other flash. So any ideas? Here is another curveball, last year it would blink fast when the teloscopic steering wheel was moved torward the driver. But I have moved the steering wheel 1000 times trying to get it to effect it now and it will not. BUT the hazards work fine all the correct same speed all bulbs lit. Do I need to dig into my dash or column? Help........

This is one of those deals that if I take to the GM dealer it will cost a fortune while they spend hours and hours chasing it.

Maybe someone with more experience will chime in but here's my .02 Could be that one of the bulbs on the right side have a burned out filament. I believe that the rears are double filament, possibly one filament is burned out. I've also heard that a loose bulb can cause rapid blinking on one side. I hope this helps you.

Not the bulbs, I went ahead and changed them all with no change.

HI there,
Cycle the hazard switch a few times and then reevaluate the condition.
It may change.

Tried it a few hundred times, didn't change anything.

HI there,
A last check would be to remove the lower knee bolster and check to make sure that there is no wires rubbing on the metal shield support.
As long as this is ok, you most likely will need a turn signal switch assembly.

Ok. I need a little more info as to where and what the lower knee bolster is? I am guessing the panel below the steering wheel.

Yes, that is correct. Under that, you will see a metal bracket/shield.
Look for any wiring rubbing on it.

I would try the left side turn signal relay on the right side. If it blinks normal, buy a new relay. I hope the C5 still uses the relays, but not sure.

Can someone help further on the relay idea? location or is it even possible?

I have the knee panel off and see no wire issue, also I have wiggled the wires every which way and seen no change in the signal issue. Help....c4c5specialist?

You were right on, i came to the multifuntion lever with your help. Then went to the dealer and gave them the scenarios and they said the same thing. So we plugged in a new one and everything worked perfect. The funny thing is that when they tested the lever with a Ohms meter it tested fine. Put once it had a load and juice to it, it failed.
