I was in Wal-Mart just flipping through the pages of Camaro Performers and lo and behold, I flip to page 96 and my jaw drops!
At 0.001 seconds I thought "hey, those cars look familiar..."
At 0.01 seconds I thought "you know, that picture looks familiar too..."
Then at 0.1 seconds I went "HEY! THAT'S MY MOM AND SISTER'S NAMES!"
I showed it to my mom, and she had the same response!
I completely forgot I emailed the magazine several months ago.
I sent them a little story and some high res pictures and never heard a response back, so I figured they didn't want to use them. BIG SURPRISE HUH?
It's too bad they didn't spell my name or Callaway right. I wonder how they messed that up? I spelled my name and Callaway right in the email... (Brandon)
Oh well, Super Chevy has a long history of typos in their magazines, so Camaro Performers should be no different! :D

Congrats

I actually submitted our cars for the magazine waaaaaaaay back December 6th, so this was before the photoshoot!

Oh yea... those are professional grade :upthumbs Brandon :upthumbs
If I still have Rare around Christmas next year, Ma and I may have to make a trip down with both cars and get some Christmas Photo's done... THOSE would make GREAT Christmas Cards :dance
Very Nice, Very Nice :upthumbs

Who/what is "Rare," Yoda?
Either way, bring it on down to Dallas! That shopping center does the lights every single year. I think they start putting them up at Thanksgiving. :)
I don't remember if I posted pictures here, but I invited some of the Camaro and Firebird guys from LS1tech to join me for a second photoshoot, and I took some more pics.
These didn't come out as good as the first ones, probably because it was so incredibly cold out (for Texas!), but here are some of the better ones nevertheless!

That's cool, too bad they couldn't get your name, or Callaway's right ;squint:
:w Brandon,
I used to be called Rare81, but with our new addition to the family and with our 1981 now up for sale, I thought it time I changed my moniker. Yoda goes back many years when I used to judge (NCCC) .... long story ;LOL
I name all my cars.. "Abby" is our newest one, but here are few photo's of Rare from Bowling Green, Colorado Springs and other places in between California, Texas and Indiana ;) Rare81 (http://www.usedcorvettesforsale.com/images.php?id=22935&f=22935_1.jpg)
;) Thanks for asking..

Ohhhhhhh! I recognize the name Rare81 :). I definitely like the C3 Corvette too. When I was in Junior High School (Middle School) I was gaga over them. I wanted a white convertible with a red interior and side exhaust. :cool
You should bring one of your cars down for a near-Christmas photoshoot this year if you can stand the drive from Amarillo (I know I barely can--never made it in less than 6 hours with a break for lunch/dinner).
If I still remember, I'll make an event topic on a few messageboards with a few weeks notice and we can attempt a great big photoshoot again. :upthumbs
Brandon, congrats!! I know you're proud and excited, you have every right to be. That is really COOL!!
If it weren't a 10 hour drive from here to Dallas, I'd have to join you all for that photoshoot! ;) I have a good friend that lives in Dallas. She and her husband are always after me to come visit. If I ever make the trip, I'm hitting you up for a cup of coffee. :)
BTW - Nice photos too!

Sure thing Jane Ann!
I don't drink coffee, but I'll be drinking hot cocoa. :L

Sometimes people really surprise me with what they remember! I didn't expect anyone to remember my post about the car getting backed into by a Jeep.
But to answer your question, yes! The car is now pretty much perfect (for its age). It has some minor body panel alignment problems up front with the front quarter panels, and a tiny amount of clearcoat aging on the roof, but other than those minor issues, it is back to looking like new again. :)
At the current time, we have no intentions of letting that car leave the family. It actually just now rolled over 80,000 miles. 80,000 miles of enjoyment outside of the garage. :D

It took me awhile to find a Corvette in one of the pictures. Had to check to see if I had logged into the wrong forum....Nope, Corvette Action Center...:eyerole

Well, technically you're in the "Other Chevrolet Car Discussion" section. That Corvette walked into the wrong bathroom. ;)
:confused This is "Other Chevrolet Car Discussion" Forum!
"For discussion of other Chevrolet cars besides Corvettes."
I believe Camaro qualifies ;shrug
We even have another Forum to discuss "Other" Cars, and even an Old Yeller Pickup thread going strong :chuckle

I figured that out after I made the post. Nice pics and it is VERY cool to see your vehicle in a magazine. :)

Thanks Thumper :D. For what it's worth, my dad owns a '92 Corvette!

Maybe one day, I'll be able to get my car, and I can get a magazine to do a spread on the three or four of them together. :upthumbs
