We were privileged
Most of us can look back on decades of fantastic music, written and performed by outstanding artists. Will today's young folks be able to look back........to the music of their youth.....without cringing?
Anyway, turn up those speakers and help me remember DAVE MASON.
You didn't forget him, did you?

Coolness. I've liked that song for years but believe it or not never knew its name or performer.
Thanks..

It seems that every generation fondly looks back on their own music and doesn't care for the music of the younger generations.

I was born in the very late 1960's. I'd say the music of "my generation" was that of the 70's and 80's. Um. 70's = disco, country, mindless pap. 80's = "hooked on..." and soft rock like George Michael or Huey Lewis. I liked some of that stuff then, but none of it has staying power. Styx is good, Boston is good, but a lot of what I like comes from the 60's or the 90's and newer. A lot of today's alternative and electronic music is quite good and while nothing will survive like The Pink Floyd or Jethro Tull or The Rolling Stones (40 years of popularity? Tell me Miss Spears or your average grunge band will do THAT!) maybe just maybe a few of today's groups will become 'classic.'
I'll say this, though - my daughter is SHOCKED that I will listen to some of the same music that her peers do...

I'm in the same boat. I had no idea who did this song, but I liked it a lot. I guess I was "in a fog" those years.

I'm not so sure I'd agree with that one. I think a lot of the kids today like to listen to late 60's early 70's rock. I know one of my nephews who's only 21 can tell you who does just about every song on my oldies stations. Rock is Rock - it came from our era (mostly) so if you like it, you like the performers WE grew up with.

Glad you're enjoying it, Gents. Here's another of his greats..........this time from a live concert just last year.
