...I've been asked by three different ppl in the past week alone on how to determine values on Callaway Corvettes.

While it may be true that one is only worth what someone would pay, they have a 20-year, proven track record of stellar resale values.

Every now and again, a car slips through at a low figure such as the 1990 coupe that sold at an auction a few mos. ago. Let me see if I can scan the ad and we'll see what you guys have to say as to why it may have sold low - it certainly did not sell for a typical price for a clean car.

Here is another resource for those looking to buy/sell a Callaway Corvette: http://www.callawayownersgroup.com/Pages/Tips.htm

Anyone care to guess why this car might have sold for so low??

MAYBE THE 140,000 MILES!
MAYBE THE $25,000.00 PLUS TO GET IT BACK IN TOP SHAPE.

there seemed to be quite a few good '90 and '91 CTTCs on the market late last year which was a unusual compared over the last 5+ years....do we know what happened to them?

also, just read the article on Ned Sutton's Bloomington win in Corvette magazine.....nice read.....and of course, Chris comes to the rescue (like a superhero) which produces a happy ending. congrats again guys!

That is a good question - what happened to them???

What are some cars that sold in the past year, and at what price??

Also, superhero is an overstatement Thanks though
While I have not seen any article on the car, I do remember judging the car at Bloomington Gold and what a NICE Callaway it was!

Chris,
Check out Corvette Magazine, April '08 issue, pages 78-81, "Going for Gold". Talks about you "sleuthing" thru files in Old Lyme.

Perhaps acting the part of "Sherlock Holmes" is a better analogy...

I'll have to go find it on the stands, thanks

One interesting note, after being told the BBS wheels were not TFP for his car (from GM or Callaway), he found a set of Dymags. Those would ot have been correct, as records later showed his car coming with stock Z51 Corvette wheels. He found a set of those - In good shape, maybe tougher than finding Dymags??

Thanks again
